Cheerleading

The Florham Park Recreation Department’s fall 2017 cheerleading program is open to Florham Park and East Hanover children entering grades 1-8 (as of fall 2017). Cheerleaders will be placed on squads based on grade level. They will cheer for the corresponding football teams. Cheerleaders will be taught hello cheers, halftime routines, and various spirit cheers, as well as age-appropriate dances and stunts. Cheerleaders will learn the value of sportsmanship, teamwork, and community pride. Cheerleaders may be invited to participate in special events, such as Cheer Fest and the borough’s annual Independence Day parade. Cheerleaders are also involved in Football Family Day. The cheerleading program relies on the support of volunteer directors, coaches, and squad parents. A separate fundraising organization, the Florham Park Cheerleading Committee, sells apparel and spirit items throughout the season, and hosts a dinner at the conclusion of the season. For more information, call the Recreation Department at (973) 410-5390.
