The 2021 Day Camp will be limiting the number of campers this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Camp begins on Monday, June 28th and run through Friday, August 13th. Camp begins at at 9 am and ends at 3 pm. Morning and afternoon extended care options are available for an extra fee. Masks will be provided to all campers and staff. Masks will be worn when inside and will be required outside when social distancing is not possible. Groups will be organized into small pods and will stay together throughout the day. Campers will be going to the FP Municipal Pool on Mondays and Fridays. Trips are available at an extra fee however space is limited due to the smaller number of children allowed on a bus. The LIT Program (replacing the previous VSL Program) is an education course designed to help young people entering 7th grade in the Fall to develop their awareness and basic skills of youth leadership. LIT’s will work with our camp staff and the group to establish positive team building skills and to learn how to implement team work in a group setting. They will have the opportunity to shadow CIT’s and counselors on a daily basis, learning teamwork, communication and volunteer skills. This program has a morning session (8:45-12:15) and an afternoon session (12:15-3:00 pm). If your child is interested in becoming a LIT they will need to fill out a form and return to the Rec. Dept. by Friday, April 5th. It is a selective program, with a limited number of spots. You will fill out the LIT Application, and you will also be asked to bring a form in to school for a Teacher or Guidance Counselor to fill out, so we may gather a little more information about you. You will also be asked to come in for an interview. Based on the answers you provide in the application and feedback from, you will then be asked to come in for an interview. Once we have finalized our selection in April/May, you will be sent an email confirming your weeks.
The CIT Program is an education course designed for children going in to 8th-10th grade, (who haven’t turned 16). It is a program designed for young adults to work with our staff learning how to establish a positive camp experience for youth. Training will include how to manage a group setting and take on the responsibility of planning and implementing daily activities. This program is from 9:00-1:00 and your child must make a 2 week commitment. If your child is interested they will need to fill out a CIT Application and return to me by Friday, April 5th. It is a selective program, with a limited number of spots. You will also need to bring a form in to school for a Teacher or Guidance Counselor to fill out, so we may gather a little more information about you. Based on the answers you provide and the feedback, you will then be asked to come in for an interview. Once we have finalized our selection in April/May, you will be sent an email with weeks you will be working
